About the Institute

A research-focused charity dedicated to extending healthy human lifespan through science.

The Australian Institute for Heart Disease and Healthy Aging (AIDHA) is a not-for-profit organisation established to support and conduct medical research aimed at preventing and reversing age-related disease.

Our work centres on three interconnected areas: cardiovascular disease, autoimmune conditions, and the biological processes that cause tissues and organs to lose youthful function with age.

We believe that targeting the underlying mechanisms of aging offers one of the most powerful opportunities to reduce the burden of chronic disease and improve quality of life for Australians.
